ØSTRE ANLÆG

Stroll along winding paths on the former ramparts of Copenhagen in its hilly terrain brimming with wildlife, flowers and herbs.

Untamed Nature in the Heart of Copenhagen

The romantic Østre Anlæg park is laid out with winding paths and hilly terrain on what was formerly the ramparts of Copenhagen.

In the Østre Anlæg park, you can clearly see the outline of the old fortifications thanks to well-preserved lakes and bastions. Designed in a natural landscape-like style, the park boasts many wild herbs, perennials and grasses as well as rich wildlife, especially in the lakes.

Amidst the greenery of the park’s nooks and crannies, sculptures and monuments make up surprise elements.

The Østre Anlæg park is home to two playgrounds and one of the city’s popular toboggan runs. And this is also where you will find the Hirschsprung Collection and SMK – the National Gallery of Denmark which have plenty of world-class art on display.

ØSTRE ANLÆG

You can access Østre Anlæg from Sølvgade, Stockholmsgade, Dag Hammerskjolds Allé and Øster Voldgade, which encircle Østre Anlæg.
